Tuesday, May 12, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
up to 6 miles, minimal elevation gain.
Meet at Everett Station Park & Ride Lot --
B

Celebrate the wonders of Vancouver, B.C.’s crown jewel park! We'll walk a loop around the park on the famous Seawall Trail, enjoying the waterfront scenery and more, including the lovely rhododendron gardens and a plethora of other sights and attractions. After the walk, plan to indulge at La Casa Gelato, a specialty ice cream shop with 238 flavors! Bring your passport for the border crossing, and bring a lunch, or purchase lunch at one of the park concession stands we pass along the way. Not up to walking 6 miles? You're still welcome. Just do what you can, and you can be picked up at numerous spots along the way.
Expected Conditions:
Everything should be open in Stanley Park, with no construction-related closures or detours. We will do most of our walking along the seawall trail, a level, paved path that loops around the park. There will be a few connecting trails that will be unpaved but smooth surfaced. You may need to walk up and down some stairs at a couple of spots, especially if you want to access a restroom located above the seawall. Otherwise, pretty easy. If your stamina isn't up to doing the 6 miles around the loop, you can stop most anywhere that's accessible to a vehicle, and I can pick you up as we leave the park.
Other Considerations:
You must bring your passport or enhanced drivers license for the border crossings. We will fill out customs declarations cards before entering Canada. You can wear any sort of comfortable walking shoes for the walk on the seawall trail. Trekking poles are not really necessary. Pack some water and food in a small pack. You can also purchase food in the park at a walk-up concession stand that we will be passing by at lunch time. We will be stopping at La Casa Gelato afterwards and have a choice of the 238 flavors they serve. NOTE: La Casa Gelato DOES NOT ACCEPT credit cards. You'll have to use cash--Canadian if you have some, but US cash will work too.
I need all trip participants to update and submit a Hold Harmless Form for 2026. Click here to go to the form page.
