Come discover this excellent Kitsap County Park near Silverdale, which offers 13 miles of trails on over 1000 acres of forests, wetlands, and meadows. There are some mild hills, with most of the walking on well-maintained trails and gated roads that make for a fine outing any time of the year. WTA crews have worked here frequently in recent years to keep the trail system in tip-top shape. We'll be taking the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry to get there, and will stop at Borrowed Kitchen Bakery for goodies in the morning. Trip cost includes the ferry fees.
Expected Conditions:
This area near Silverdale should be accessible, and this trip should be able to go as planned. Expect to hike a trail system with forest and wetland trails and gated roads. There could be some impacts from the heavy rains, but I'm not aware of anything significant. I'll update this if that changes. Expect some wet and muddy areas, and maybe some standing water in places. The terrain here is mostly mild, without any sustained steep hills. There's no snow at these elevations (only 400 feet above sea level).
Other Considerations:
Wear good traction hiking shoes or boots for these trails. The more waterproof your boots, the better. Trekking poles might be useful at times. Gaiters might be useful too for the water and mud. We'll be taking the 8:50 ferry from Edmonds in the morning. Let me know if you'd like to be picked up in Edmonds. We'll likely return on either the 2:30 or 3:10 ferry from Kingston back to Edmonds.
I need all trip participants to update and submit a Hold Harmless Form for 2025. Click here to go to the form page.
