Lake Wenatchee State Park is inaccessible, so I'm looking at an alternate destination that will be of comparable difficulty. Beginners welcome! Use the "Snowshoe Rental" add-on to reserve a pair of snowshoes and poles if needed.
Expected Conditions:
Word is that Highway 542 (Mount Baker Highway) may re-open soon, which would give access to the Salmon Ridge Sno-Park trail system this weekend. There are trails for cross-country skiers and snowshoers here, in a scenic area alongside the Nooksack River. Snow has begun to fall, and quite a bit is expected by Sunday, which would make for some beautiful fresh snow conditions.
Other Considerations:
I'll post more info here when I'm able to devise an alternate plan for the trip. Keep in mind that I always strive to come up with an alternate plan that is safe, rewarding, and of similar difficulty to the original. I encourage everyone to do the alternate trip, but you're within your right to request a refund if you prefer.
I need all trip participants to update and submit a Hold Harmless Form for 2025. Click here to go to the form page.
