Walk 10/13 St. Edwards State Park
4 miles, 400 feet elevation gain.
Trip description
Have I really never led a trip to this scenic state park near Kenmore? Time to change that. It's the largest tract of undeveloped land on Lake Washington, a 326-acre property with miles of fine trails through forest and along the lakeshore. The park was home to a seminary for several decades in the last century, and the huge 4-story brick building still stands after nearly 95 years. Most trails here are smooth and gentle, but we do start about 350 feet above Lake Washington, walking a route that drops to the lake and then will climb back up. So expect some elevation gain in that section.
