Hike 9/20 Grand Park via Lake Eleanor
6 - 8 miles, 1200 feet elevation gain.
Trip description
This trip is an "encore" offering to the one that was done on July 2nd. I had a big waiting list, so if you missed out on this, here's another chance. This striking feature in Mount Rainier National Park is a broad plateau filled with nice fall colors in September, and the "back door" hiking approach via Lake Eleanor, just outside the northern park boundary, makes it reachable as a moderate day hike. Come see the views, watch for wildlife, and enjoy the colorful meadows that should be near their peak fall beauty. You'll likely run out of superlatives to describe the scene.
