Hike 5/2 Baker River & Baker Lake
5-8 miles, up to 600 feet elevation gain
Trip description
Explore the wild moss-draped forests of the North Cascades in the shadow of Mount Baker. Begin hiking at the end of the Baker Lake Road on the Baker River Trail, then soon cross the river on a long footbridge to the trail following the East Bank of Baker Lake. Cross several side streams and creeks, some on sturdy bridges, some by hopping the rocks, and turn around when you've gone far enough. Noisy Creek Camp is a nice destination, on the lakeshore in full view of Mt. Baker. It's an 8 mile round trip if you get to Noisy Creek, but anywhere you wish to turn around makes a fine destination.
