Sorry, this trip is full. Contact Andy to be added to the waiting list

6 - 9 miles, 900 feet elevation gain.

Trip description

Let's explore two of the best hikes near Chilliwack, BC, one featuring a grand viewpoint of the Fraser Valley, and the other being a scenic riverwalk with opportunities to spot birds, salmon, and other wildlife. We'll start with a 4-mile round trip to the top of Mount Thom on the outskirts of Chilliwack. It's a popular, well-maintained trail with a great payoff at the end. Then we'll travel a short distance to the Vedder River Rotary Trail, a wide and level walk alongside the river with mountain views, great bird watching, and maybe even some spawning salmon. The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve is located along this trail, which has an interpretive center and lots of informative displays. Remember to have your passport or enhanced drivers license for the border crossings.
