Walk 5/1 Mercer Slough via Light Rail
View of downtown Seattle from the 2 Line as it diverges toward the east side

Crossing Lake Washington on the 2 Line

Arriving at the South Bellevue Station, there's this view of Mercer Slough Nature Park

You descend from the light rail platform, walk for a minute or two, and you're on the trails at Mercer Slough

Walking the easy trails. Now if we can just find an unlocked bathroom.

Winters House. The light rail actually runs in a deep trench just a few feet away from this spot

High water conditions on the trail around the blueberry fields necessitated a turn-around

Mercer Slough runs right through the center of the park. Salmon runs can be seen here in the fall.

The Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center has several buildings on the east side of the park

There are walkways suspended above the forest floor, and even a short lookout tower

The buildings here sit up in the forest canopy, a really cool setting
