Walk 3/16 Pioneer Park - Mercer Island
A wide path leads to a bridge near the trailhead off East Mercer Way


Yep, it was another showery day, but the rain quit after 10:30 or so.


A few bits of leftover snow were seen


Unusual root formation over an old rotted nurse stump


Mosses and ferns clung to most every tree trunk


Pioneer Park is the largest open space on Mercer Island, with nearly 150 acres of preserved forests.


This attractive sculpture was found alongside the trail


...and Seattle in the other. Could even make out some snowy peaks in the Olympics beyond the city skyline.

Later, we explored Luther Burbank Park at Mercer Island's northern tip


From the tip of the island, you could glance toward Bellevue in one direction...
