Walk 1/7 Lake Padden & Lunch
Lake Padden Park features a 2.6-mile loop trail around the lake, plus several miles of other trails nearby
Low clouds, and snow on the hills above the lake. January weather was upon us.
Beautiful wide path alongside Padden Creek
Lots of old growth in the park--cedars, fir, and sitka spruce.
The outlet of Lake Padden has a spillway gate. It was letting out quite a volume of water
Most of the paths were in great shape in spite of the wet weather, but there were a few messy bits too
Finished the walk in a near-downpour.
Not a day for a picnic on the lake shore
Big Stick BBQ was recommended by one of our regular hikers, and it was an excellent call
Nothing fancy at Big Stick, just good food.
