Hike 7/24 Sunrise Rim Trail - Mt. Rainier
Despite leaving Everett at 6:00am, we arrived to a full parking area at Sunrise

Clear skies and good air quality today, much better than some previous days

Typical crowds on the trails

Looking out to the northeast from Sourdough Ridge

Rainier's Emmons Glacier is most prominent in the view from Sunrise

Frozen Lake, the water supply for Sunrise, is alarmingly low this summer

Signpost on the Wonderland Trail

Birdsbeak Lousewort

Nice wide smooth trails throughout this area

Shadow Lake

Rainier peaking over a ridge from Shadow Lake

Loads of lupine in bloom

Playing hide and seek with the Mountain

Snout of the Emmons Glacier, where the White River emerges

Helicopter was flying supplies from a trail work project at a backcountry campsite

Temperature were comfortable, peaking around 70 in mid-afternoon

This is why the trip was full at 6:02 the first day of sign-up!

Fascinating trail sculpture
