Hike 6/20 Mount Zion Wild Rhodies
Rhody blossoms started early, and lasted the whole way up

There was hardly anywhere on the trail where you couldn't see some pink

Most of the trail was forested, but there were occasional glimpses throuugh the trees

Spotted coralroot

A short detour led to a vista of Mount Townsend area

The summit of Mt. Zion has limited views, and the low clouds obscured views to the east

Rhododendron macrophyllum, Washington's state flower

A clearing just south of the summit gave us wide open views

We could see Mt. Townsend, Gray Wolf Ridge, the Needles, and more

Spotted Saxifrage on a rocky outcrop

Take a short stroll through the rhodies

Columbine

Someone spotted a white blossom too
