Hike 3/29 Salt Creek Recreation Area (overflow trip)
This small falls graced the trailside on the way to Eagle's Cove in Salt Creek Recreation Area

Eagle's Cove looking quite foreboding in the gray, misty weather

The rugged landscape here was somewhat reminiscent of Cape Flattery

Driftwood log shows a story of harsh weathering and waves

Eagle Cove required a steep 200 foot drop down to it's edges, which the group handled quite well despite the gloomy skies

Part of the Eagle's Cove trail crosses the steep forest slope above

A gorgeous grove of old growth along Eagle's Cove Trail

Tongue Point, where we explored tidepools 8 days prior, was now scattered with small rocky islands

Low tide wouldn't be until 7PM, which didn't make for good beach walking today.

Elwha River Bridge, built in 2009, carries the Olympic Discovery Trail underneath the road bridge

From the Elwha Bridge, fresh snow could be seen on hillside not far above us
