Hike 6/30 Teanaway Ridge

Escape to the magical Teanaway region near Cle Elum to get a good workout on this trail to the high country. Sometimes known as the Iron-Bear Trail, so-named after the two nearby creek valleys, this moderately steep path reaches flowered meadows and ridgetop views of the Eastern Cascades. This should be prime time for meadow wildflowers.

Expected Conditions:

The road and trail are reported to be in good condition and snow-free. Flowers are starting to come on and should be near peak for our visit. We start off the forest service road at a trailhead at about 3700 feet elevation. The trail reaches a summit point at around 5400 feet. We return the same way we came.

Other Considerations:

Wear good traction hiking shoes or boots, and bring or borrow trekking poles to ease the ups and downs. This can be a very dry, hot trail in certain conditions, so be sure to pack plenty of water.
