Walk 7/11 Pacific NW Trail Low-tide walk
3 - 6 miles, minimal elevation gain.
Trip description
Hike a segment of the 1200-mile Pacific Northwest Trail as it follows the western shore of Whidbey Island. We'll make a one-way walk on the beaches around Point Partridge in Fort Ebey State Park. There will be views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Admiralty Inlet, and the Olympic Mountains, as well as chances to see shore birds and other marine wildlife. Our trip will coincide with a -2.0 low tide at 11:00am, which should make for a nice wide beach with relatively easy travel. We'll start at West Beach Road and head south on the beach. Stop at Fort Ebey Park, or continue on all the way to Ebey's Landing.
