Walk 5/30 Kruckeberg Gardens tour & more

3 miles, 300 feet elevation gain.

Trip description

A very special woodland garden can be found on a 4-acre site in Shoreline. It was the longtime home of Dr. Art Kruckeberg and his family, and is now preserved as a partnership with the City of Shoreline and the Kruckeberg Foundation. The gardens feature a unique blend of native Northwest plants and a variety of exotic species from many parts of the world. We've scheduled a guided tour of the gardens, where you can see and learn about some of the 2,000 or so plant species on site. We're delighted to be accompanied by Dr. Kruckeberg's daughter Enid on our tour as well! The tour will last an hour or so, and to round out the trip, we'll also take a walk in another nearby woodland park, Southwest County Park in Edmonds. The trip fee includes the cost of the gardens tour.
