Walk 11/22 Iron Goat Trl/Skykomish Lunch
3 - 5 miles, 200 feet elevation gain.
Trip description
There's no better place in the Stevens Pass area for a casual walk on a gentle trail, and no place that emits the echoes of rail history like the Iron Goat Trail. We'll walk an out-and-back route on the lower portion of the Iron Goat between Scenic and Martin Creek. This section of trail is mostly wide, smooth, and very gently-graded, having been built to ADA standards. Make it a casual stroll, or go at a brisk pace to get the blood pumping. After 2 hours or so on the trail, we'll head back to Skykomish for lunch at the Cascadia Cafe, which has been offering homestyle cooking in that small mountain hamlet since 1922.
