Hike 9/30 Lake Valhalla

Sorry, this trip is full. Contact Andy to be added to the waiting list

6 miles, 1300 feet elevation gain.

Trip description

Take a fall color hike along a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail to see one of the prettiest lakes in the Central Cascades. Valhalla sits at nearly 5000 feet, just a few miles from Stevens Pass, and is deservedly popular for it's striking location amidst jagged rock peaks, deep green forests, and (in late September) a riot of brilliant fall colors. We'll start from the Smith Brook Trailhead, connecting to the PCT which leads to the lake at a comfortable uphill grade. For stronger hikers, an option to hike up nearby Mount McCausland (adding 1 mile, 600 feet gain) will be possible if conditions are favorable.

  • Meet at Everett Station Park & Ride Lot B. Look for large white passenger van.
