4 miles, 800 feet elevation gain.

Trip description

This is a pleasant loop trail that straddles the boundary between Mt. Rainier National Park and the William O. Douglas Wilderness near Chinook Pass. It's renown for the many colorful wildflowers that bloom in mid-summer. The wildflower show here will have come and gone, but late September offers a different WOW-factor on this trail. The meadows are sprinkled with fall colors, making this hike equally as enjoyable in the fall. There's a reason why hikers keep coming back to this gorgeous place year after year. Easy access on a paved road, a super well-maintained trail, a chance to see wildlife, and classic Mt. Rainier views.
