Hike 7/8 Iron Goat Trail End-to-End
6 miles, minimal elevation gain.
Explore the rail history of the Stevens Pass region on this one-of-a-kind trail. What was once the route of the Great Northern Railroad in the early 1900's was revived in the 1990's as a beautiful, nearly-level walking path that all can enjoy and discover. This will be a one-way hike from the Wellington Trailhead to Martin Creek, where we'll see the remnants of tunnels, snowsheds, and trestle bridges where the trains once rolled. This is wildflower season as well, a great time to spot the colorful blossoms of countless varieties of plants.
