Hike 10/10 Carne Mountain-Golden Larches
6-8 miles, 2500 - 3600 feet elevation gain.
Trip description
Here's your chance to go to the high country and see the one of a kind brilliance of the alpine larch during their golden show of early October. These trees are only found near tree line, at elevations above 6000 feet mostly, so it's a treat to see them, especially when accented by touches of early season snow on the surrounding peaks. Carne Mountain reaches to over 7000 feet in the Entiat Mountains east of Glacier Peak. A good trail climbs steadily to a basin below the peak (where the good views and larches begin). Stop there, or go for the top if the weather permits. Note that this is a long day with an early start.

To cancel from a trip, contact Andy via email or text. Cancellations more than two weeks before a trip receive a full refund minus a $15 fee. Cancellations more than 3 days but less than 2 weeks before the trip receive a 50% refund. Sorry, no refund on cancellations 3 days or less before the trip. Some trips may be changed with short notice due to unforeseen conditions. You're encouraged to go along with the alternate plan, but are entitled to a full refund if you opt out.
