Bike 5/18 Rocky Reach & Apple Capital Tr
12 - 20 miles, 300 feet elevation gain.
Trip description
Bike along beautiful paved paths next to the Columbia River near Wenatchee. Enjoy the great views, the wildflower blossoms, and the (almost guaranteed) sunny weather. We'll travel to Wenatchee Confluence State Park in Wenatchee and begin biking on the Apple Capital Loop Trail as it crosses the Columbia north of the city. We then connect to the Rocky Reach Trail, which follows the river northward for 5 miles to Lincoln Rock State Park. From there, we turn back, either returning to Wenatchee Confluence (for a 12-mile ride), or continuing on the Apple Capital and completing its loop route (for a 20-mile ride). Several points of interest along the trail in Wenatchee can be visited along the way. There's a great public market, for one thing, and several nice parks too. Any bike in good working condition can do this ride, as all trail surfaces are paved. There is no on-street riding on this trip--you'll always be on bike trails, occasionally crossing low-traffic-volume streets or roads.
