8 - 16 miles, 100 - 400 feet elevation gain.
The sprawling resort community near Cle Elum has miles of wonderful trails that are open and free to the public. About 8 miles of these are paved paths that wind through the scenic ponderosa pine forests, and they make for a great bike tour with almost no riding in traffic. Let's head over for a springtime ride among the blooming wildflowers! We'll spend the first hour or so riding together, and after that, feel free to head out for as much or as little riding as you like. The trails have some gentle hills which are mostly fairly short, and a good deal of the riding is nearly level. There are also some unpaved paths for those who wish to get some more interesting terrain under their tires. Any type of bike in good working condition will be fine. Remember to bring a helmet, spare inner tube, and a few tools if needed while out on the trail. Bring a lunch that will be eaten near the van. No need to pack it with you as you ride.
