Walk 1/9 Skagit Valley-- Wild Goose Chase
Sun beginning to break through at our first stop in the Skagit Wildlife Area.
Great Blue Herons seemed to be the stars today. Many were fairly close by.

A few factoids about the snow geese. We really didn't see a lot of them though
The geese migrate all the way from Wrangell Island in the Arctic Ocean!
Perched on the fallen log in front of the end of the barn is a short-eared owl.

Never found a field full of snow geese, but did see a nice collection of swans here
