Snowshoe 4/8 Surprise Lake
Strapping on the snowshoes at the beginning of our 8+ hour adventure
Followed the trail into the wilderness area
Signs of spring in the lower elevations-- melted out streams were tricky to cross
Fantastical snow formations around Surprise Creek on the way up
Breaking into small clearings about 3 miles in
Views! The rain/snow was holding off, and it looked promising.
Reached Surprise Lake about 4.5 hours after starting
Fairly good views, but snow flurries were just beginning
