Hike 8/24 Mount Ellinor (alternate for Minotaur Lake / Labyrinth Mountain)
About halfway up the trail, an overlook provided our first views
Climbing out of the forest to views of Lake Cushman below
Much of the upper trail consists of hundreds of steps like these
Climbing steep trail to a ridgeline about 20 minutes below the top
Lake Cushman from the 5920-foot summit of Mt. Ellinor
Very windy at the top! Sorry ladies.
Mount Washington was visible nearby to the northeast
Looking toward the interior of the Olympics, still mostly obscured
Rock formations on and around Mt. Ellinor are quite impressive
We found a sheltered spot just below the summit to take a break
Looking back up at the top of Ellinor
Saw this outrageous clump of harebell
The trail does a remarkable job of guiding you through the rocky terrain
Carefully descending the rugged forest section
View of Ellinor from the trailhead upon our return
