Hike 8/17 Asahel Curtis - Snoqualmie Tunnel
We started on the Asahel Curtis Trail, dedicated to a longtime northwest photographer and activist.
The rocky cascades of Humpback Creek
Cruising along the Palouse to Cascades Trail, heading toward Snoqualmie Tunnel
Mile markers from the original rail line show the distance to Chicago
An overlook of the upper Snoqualmie Valley and Snoqualmie Pass
West portal of the 2.2-mile Snoqualmie Tunnel, in use from 1914 to 1980.
Plenty of people coming through the tunnel on bikes and on foot. We turned around here and didn't go in tunnel.
More views of peaks along the I-90 corridor
Foxglove along the trail
Granite Mountain from the Palouse to Cascades Trail
Trail took us under I-90, where some ongoing bridge maintenance is happening
Indian Pipe near the trailhead
Potluck lunch at the Asahel Curtis Picnic Area
