Hike 6/20 Dosewallips State Park

Dosewallips State Park is very popular for camping and shellfish harvesting

Nice paths through the forest made for peaceful walking.

Must be something good they're looking at

Small creeks had nice sturdy bridges to cross on

Portion of Dosewallips River seen from trail

Wildlife invaded our lunch spot

Our timing was good, as we hit a very low tide for exploring the beach

Trail leads out to a nice viewing platform

Display on viewing platform explains the shellfish harvesting details

Looking out across the broad estuary where Dosewallips River meets Hood Canal

Small herd of elk about 200 yards away

Trail of sea shells across the tideflats

Shells by the millions underfoot

Elk, about as close as we got

Rocky Brook Falls, about 3 miles inland from Hood Canal
