Hike 5/10 Cooper River
The view of Cooper River from near the start of the trail

The same view on a snowshoe trip 3 months ago

Cooper River rushing by

The trail mostly climbs well above the river, but the beginning sure is nice

Early-season trail obstacles

Indian Paintbrush making an appearance

Trilliums were everywhere, including some starting to blush purple

Red Mountain hovers above Cooper River Valley

Resting by the river, just enjoying the sights and sounds

Great spot for a rest break

Patches of snow on the opposite bank, a sign that summer is still a ways off

Followed the trail a little over 3 miles, encountering snow patches toward the end

Cooper River flows out of Cooper Lake, seen in the distance here

Sign on the bridge where we turned around
