Hike 1/14 Rattlesnake Ledge
Signboard near the parking lot has a nice map and description of the trails

Looking up at our destination, trying to break out of the clouds

Nice forest trail through second growth. An old growth stump becomes the nursery for a small community of plants

Boulders are scattered in the forest below the cliffs of Rattlesnake Ledge

For the most part, trail was in immaculate condition, a pleasure to hike

Reaching the vista at the top after 2 miles, nothing but sunshine and views

Forests blanket the slopes of Mount Washington, much of which lies in the Cedar River Watershed.

A view of the snowy tops of Mailbox Peak and other nearby mountains

Having a look around at the Ledge viewpoint

Still some low clouds at the foot of Mount Si

wide view of the lowlands around North Bend

The rocky precipice where we rested and had lunch. Don't get too close to the edge.

Looking almost straight down toward the trailhead parking lots next to Rattlesnake Lake

Walking the pleasant paths along the lake at the bottom
