Friday, September 10-- Hike -- Greenwater Lakes --  Departs at 8:00am.  Trip is currently FULL (Thank
You!!)
Hike Description.   This is a nice gentle trail through beautiful old forest, with several handsome foot bridges
and a couple of small lakes.  Good chance to see wildlife too.  The trail is in excellent condition, though could be a little
wet  because of recent rains.  Our elevation on this hike ranges from about 2500' to 2900.'
 WEATHER FORECAST.

Saturday, September 11-- Hike -- Heather Park / Lake Angeles Loop --  Departs at 6:15am.  Trip is
currently FULL (Thank You!!)
Hike Description.  This loop trip features a pair of gorgeous destinations, and is easily one
of the best day hikes in Olympic National Park-- and there are a LOT of good hikes in Olympic National Park.  It is tough,
however-- 12.5 miles, and well over 4000 feet of elevation gain.  Most of the trail is in excellent condition, but you can
expect portions to be rough, rocky, narrow, and challenging.  I expect this to be about an 8-9 hour hiking day, roughly
half uphill, and half downhill.  Please be sure you bring a headlamp.  I expect to finish at least an hour or two before
dark, but on a long day like this, you never know.  I will bring my water filter so that you can refill water bottles during
the day.  The trailhead, near the Heart 'o the Hills Campground, is at about 1800.'  Our high point, on Klahhane Ridge,
is 6000.'
WEATHER FORECAST.

Saturday, September 12-- Hike -- White Chuck Bench --  Departs at 8:30am.  Trip is currently FULL
(Thank You!!)
Hike Description.   This trail south of Darrington has been inaccessible for years, but thanks to a new
bridge over the Sauk River, the trailhead is now once again reachable.  It was expected that some significant trail repair
and rerouting would be done this year to restore the full 6 miles of the trail.  Well, the good news is that the first two
miles are in good shape.   Beyond that, however, there still are washouts and other troublesome areas, so it's
questionable how far we'll actually be able to get.  When the going gets tough, we'll call it a day.  Still should be some
fine hiking in a beautiful area.   Elevation fluctuates very little, staying at about the 1200' level most of the way.
WEATHER FORECAST.
