Entry for January 15, 2007
Today may very well have been the coldest snowshoe trip I've led for Everett Parks. We were at Stevens Pass, doing the Grace Lakes tour. The sky was clear, the snow was gorgeous, and we had the area to ourselves for virtually the whole trip. It was a slice of heaven, but BRRRR. I checked the readouts from the weather stations up there. When we arrived it was 6°, and it never got above 10.° On top of that, it was windy. At mid-day, they were reporting an average wind of 18 MPH, with a maximum wind gust 0f 25. The wind chill factor, you might be wondering: minus 15. I salute the group of ten that was with me today. They put up with it, and still had a great day.
