Kind of a wild weekend up there. On Saturday we had to ditch the original idea of going to Lake Wenatchee because Stevens was closed in the morning (power line down). So off to Snoqualmie instead. Well, they had closures at the ski area (power out), AND a freeway delay east of the summit (avalanche control). We managed to get to a VERY crowded Gold Creek Sno-park and get in a rather delightful tour with six first-timers.
Sunday we headed to Heather Meadows. We'd go for Artist Point, weather permitting. Well, weather did not permit. We went out about 2/3 mile (to the summertime visitor center), had a quick lunch and turned back. Made the most of the day by doing a loop near Picture Lake in the afternoon. This was lower down, not quite so windy and stormy.
